DanHatch Group sets new record and strengthens foundation for future growth
Record year combined with strategic implementation strengthens the Group’s position in a market with high demand
DanHatch Group reached a historic milestone in 2025 with sales of 553 million day-old chicks, representing growth of approximately 4% compared to the previous year. At the same time, the Group delivered record revenue and record earnings, providing a strong financial foundation for future development.
The continued high demand for high-quality chickens across the Group’s markets has been the primary driver of this growth. 2026 is already fully booked, and 2027 is close to being sold out.
In 2025, the European poultry market continued to be affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza. Outbreaks across several European countries reduced hatching egg production and contributed to a situation where demand growth exceeded supply. Despite a generally high level of infection pressure, DanHatch Group successfully maintained a high standard of animal health throughout its production operations. This was achieved through consistent biosecurity measures, strong farm management practices, and close collaboration with suppliers and customers.
"This year’s results confirm that we have a robust and scalable business. We have delivered strong earnings and further strengthened our solid financial position, enabling us to invest strategically in capacity, sustainability, and long-term development," says Group CFO Jens Vejen Lorenzen.
As part of its long-term strategy, DanHatch Group also strengthened the organisation in 2025 by adding new competencies in key areas. These investments are intended to ensure continued high execution capability and support the Group’s ongoing development.
Strategic progress under Hatching the Future
2025 was characterised by focused implementation of the Group strategy, Hatching the Future.
Across the organisation, international collaboration was strengthened through increased coordination and joint Top Management meetings for local leadership teams. At the same time, the launch of a new Group intranet enhanced internal communication and organisational unity.
The Group also completed a comprehensive market analysis and further developed its long-term growth strategy to secure an even stronger market position. In addition, we maintained a strong focus on animal welfare and animal health, while further integrating the development of future value propositions into the business.
Sustainability became even more deeply embedded in the Group’s strategic direction in 2025 and is now a central element of its long-term business development. As part of a strengthened and more holistic sustainability agenda, DanHatch Group initiated several initiatives, including the preparation of the Group’s first consolidated carbon footprint report. These initiatives are intended to establish a solid baseline for future reporting and targeted sustainability efforts, which the Group has chosen to undertake regardless of the fact that DanHatch Group is not subject to any legal reporting requirements in this area.
At the same time, the Group worked systematically to strengthen documentation, transparency, and governance frameworks, while providing sustainability training for managers and key employees to ensure a shared enhancement of competencies across the organisation.
Well positioned for the future
The two Group CEOs, Anette Hermansen and Lasse Olesen, are pleased with both the financial results and the strategic progress achieved.
"We are proud to present another sales record while also delivering the strongest financial performance in the Group’s history. It demonstrates our organisation’s ability to combine operational execution with strategic development," says Group CEO Lasse Olesen.
Group CEO Anette Hermansen adds:
"With the implementation of Hatching the Future, we have taken important steps towards strengthening our business, our organisation, and our sense of responsibility. Our strong balance sheet and the continued high demand for our products provide a solid foundation for continued growth in line with our strategy."
