Group COO steps down after 38 years with DanHatch

After 38 years of employment at DanHatch, Group COO Claus Zakarias has decided to step down from his position at the end of May 2026. His step-down is part of a planned transition from a long professional career in the Danish and international hatchery industry to the beginning of retirement.

For nearly four decades, Claus has played a central role at DanHatch and has made a significant contribution to the Group’s production development, efficiency improvements, and strategic direction. Over many years, Claus has also been actively involved in political and professional collaboration within both Danish and European industry associations.

“After many good and eventful years at DanHatch, I have decided to scale back my working life and begin the transition to retirement. It has been a privilege to be part of DanHatch’s fantastic development over so many years, to work with skilled colleagues across our Danish and international companies, and to participate in both national and international industry cooperation,” says Claus.

At DanHatch, his many years of dedication are deeply appreciated.

“For 38 years, Claus has been a highly committed and loyal part of DanHatch. His professional expertise and leadership contributions have been of great importance to the Group’s development. We would like to sincerely thank Claus for his many years of dedication and the significant contributions he has made,” says Group CEO Anette Hermansen.

The step-down follows a planned and well-prepared generational transition in the role of Group COO at DanHatch Group, with Kasper Foldager Kjærgård ready to step into the role.

DanHatch wishes Claus all the best in the next phase of his life and in his transition to retirement.
